UNWTO is pleased to announce the admission of The University of Tourism and Management in Skopje, (Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia - FYROM) and Promitur (Cape Verde), institutions from two countries that had not been previously represented within the Organization’s private sector arm.
Universities, training schools and research centres make up around a third of the UNWTO Affiliate Members and these have demonstrated that they are keen to share knowledge and skills with the other private sector organizations in UNWTO. This knowledge bank has been further strengthened by the admission of educational institutions from Italy, Hungary, Canada, Spain and FYROM.
In line with closer cooperation with UNWTO, The International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association was also admitted
as an Affiliate Member. The Association includes over 2,000 members from more than 70 countries and is dedicated to connecting and educating businesses in LGBT tourism.
